At Theater an der Ruhr, we see ourselves not only as a stage for artistic productions, but also as an active educational partner for schools in our region. We cordially invite you to join us in making cultural education for your pupils lively, effective and sustainable.

We offer schools the opportunity to enter into a permanent partnership with us. The aim of this cooperation is to strengthen the dialogue between schools and theatres and to anchor cultural education as an integral part of the school learning process.

Our age-appropriate programmes are tailored to the development and living environments of the pupils. The focus is not only on encountering the theatre, but also on promoting a change of perspective, expressiveness and social participation.

What we offer you and your classes:

- Free theatre workshops
  on our productions or on topics relevant to the curriculum that are reflected on stage

- Participation in the programme design
   The scheduling of our performances is done in consultation with the schools. Topics and new material are decided on   together

- Cooperative projects with teachers
  e.g. as part of project weeks or as longer-term theatre projects over the course of a school year

- Research support for pupils
  e.g. as part of specialist or project work, directly in the theatre

- Work experience placements
  With insights into artistic, technical and organisational areas of work

- At least one theatre visit per year
  For all pupils – regardless of school type or prior knowledge

- Reduced ticket prices

We see ourselves as an active education partner in the spirit of the Education Partner NRW programme. Together with you, we want to create cultural learning spaces that have an impact far beyond theatre visits – in the classroom, in social interaction and in the personal development of your pupils.
