For his book Die letzten Männer des Westens (The Last Men of the West) Author Tobias Ginsburg went undercover for a year to join right-wing men's organisations, anti-feminists and warriors of the patriarchy, and scoured the relevant forums on the Internet. The result is a hair-raising, sometimes grotesque and comical picture of a scene that is growing in popularity in the slipstream of the New Right.

Ginsburg had already indulged his penchant for clandestine research in an earlier project. He snuck in with ‘Reich citizens’ and exposed their conspiracy ideology, in short: ‘The Journey into the Reich’. Interviewed by author Ralph Hammerthaler, Tobias Ginsburg talks about undercover investigation techniques and dicey situations, about painkillers, identitarians, fraternity members and radical right-wing rappers. Although intimidated at times, he never stopped digging for information, while the question lurked in the back of his mind: Man, what am I doing here?

With the "Parole Transparency" series, we set a counterpoint to SECRETS throughout the entire season. Not every secret can be revealed, even if it were desirable. But we are convinced that a democratic society should have access to as much information as possible that concerns it. That this is not the case - therein lies the explosiveness.
