The violent death of Jina Mahsa Amini in 2022 triggered strong protests in Iran; since then, the ‘Woman Living Freedom’ movement has been demanding self-determination for women in Iran. We are focusing on this resistance around the feminist day of struggle on 8 March.

The situation in Iran remains difficult more than two years after the start of the protest movements. What has happened in these two years and how do Iranians perceive the current situation? We talk to the internationally renowned artist Parastou Forouhar, whose ‘Papillon Collection I’ we are showing at the museum, and the actress Amineh Arani about their view of the country's future.
