Oneironautica III - Entfremdung

‘Oneironautica III - Alienation’ invites you on an interactive dream journey. In this VR installation, you float through a surreal space in which Kafka's parables manifest themselves in floating clouds of particles. Four mysterious clouds of sound lure you in - only when you approach them do they reveal their true form. A meditative journey through the depths of human existence, revealing the complexity and often painful nature of interpersonal relationships.

A production by Laurenz Ulrich and MIREVI and the Theater an der Ruhr as part of ‘Theatre of Expanded Realities’.

Laurenz Ulrich is a graduate of the sound and image programme at the Robert Schumann Academy of Music and the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. In his final thesis, he designed the immersive 3D installation ‘Oneironautica I’ at MIREVI. In the further development presented here, he integrates a performance by Charlotte Triebus for two avatar dancers with semi-interactive audio into the VR scene.

The Theatre of Augmented Realities is a research and development project by the Theater an der Ruhr in collaboration with the Akademie für Theater und Digitalität and the MIREVI Lab at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of NEUE WEGE.
