Using a ‘coffee machine to make toast’, according to Wau Holland, co-founder of the Chaos Computer Club, or unauthorised intrusion into other systems? What does hacking mean, how did it come about and what does all this have to do with the Chaos Computer Club? The CCC, whose informal foundation dates back to 1981, is a decentralised registered association that deals with the social and individual effects of new technologies and is primarily committed to freedom of information and computer security. Mathematician Jochim Selzer will report on the history of the Chaos Computer Club and current issues relating to the algorithmic ethics of artificial intelligence. He speaks against a background of very broad expertise: Selzer works in the IT department of a large international logistics company. He also holds seminars on network policy topics at the DGB trade unions, organises practical workshops on digital self-defence and is involved in the speakers' circle of the Chaos Computer Club.
