Café Wake Cup

An afternoon of Arabic music and cozy get-together with tea and coffee

The culture of drinking and offering tea is an inseparable part of the lifestyle of Arab countries. It shows respect and cordiality to a guest. The ritual of drinking tea or coffee together serves as a symbol to take away the fear of the "foreigner", to strengthen tolerance and community between cultures and generations. We want to cultivate and practice this ritual together, accompanied by artists from the region.

Our Café Wake Cup is back!
Café Wake Cup: Sunday, 14 June, 4 pm, free entry

On this day, the ensemble will perform songs in Turkish, Kurdish (Kurmancî and Zazakî), and possibly Armenian. The songs speak of joy, sorrow, and freedom, and reflect the diversity of various cultural traditions.

Next up is the Inanna Choir. The Inanna Choir is an Arabic-speaking women’s ensemble founded in 2025. Inspired by Inanna, a symbolic figure of Mesopotamian culture representing love, strength, and renewal, the choir brings together musical traditions from the Levant and beyond.
