Hamlet machine

Theatre play by Labor II

One text disintegrates. Another remains as an echo.
Shakespeare's Hamlet and Heiner Müller's Die Hamletmaschine overlap. History, the present, and memory are set in motion. Characters dissolve, voices remain.

The young people from Labor II work with fragments. Sentences are shifted, repeated, broken. Language meets body, sound meets silence. Classical material and their own texts exist side by side, without hierarchy.

It is about standstill and possibility. About power, heritage, and the passing on of history. About speaking and not speaking. Hamlet is not a character, but a state between thinking and acting.

Everything that emerges is part of a shared process. The play was developed and created independently by the young people from Labor II.
