A summer’s night between history, the present and utopia

When night-time comes alive in the Ruhr region, the Theater an der Ruhr opens its doors and invites you to rediscover its listed building – once part of the Raffelberg spa. Where spa guests once sought treatment and relaxation, theatre and art now flourish.
Take a guided tour behind the scenes (18:15–20:45 every half hour, 21:15–00:15 every hour). A photo exhibition awaits you in the historic foyer, and an audio play about the building’s history in Raffelberg Park. You can round off the evening at the bar, whilst light displays create an atmospheric setting for the façade and park.
To kick off the UTOPIE-Spielinsel, which takes place the following week at the Theater an der Ruhr, we are also opening our art installation – a first glimpse into utopian worlds. Experience a summer’s night full of history, art and a special atmosphere – we look forward to your visit!
