Ein Blick hinter die Maske
An introduction to theatrical mask play with Mats Süthoff

In this three-hour workshop, we venture a first encounter with the mystery of the mask. We will take a playful approach to the expressive potential of our body language, explore the basic techniques of mask play and address the question of what the mask needs to come alive. We will work with tools such as tension, breath and focus to transform ourselves physically. The mask will be our closest ally in the search for playful moments.
The workshop will be led by the mask player and director Mats Süthoff, who works internationally on and behind the stage and is co-directing "Oedipus". He has been part of the Familie Flöz mask theater group since 2017.
No previous experience is necessary to take part. However, please bring comfortable clothing.
The workshop is limited to 15 participants. It will not take place on the premises of the theater, but on the rehearsal stage within walking distance of Raffelbergpark (Ruhrorter Str. 108-110). Please reserve a place for one of the two workshop dates in good time by providing your email address via our online store or by telephone. Participation is subject to a fee (10 €).
