CHAOS

In the beginning, there was chaos. Or are we right in the middle of it? Between new beginnings and finding our bearings, between chance and change, new stories, new encounters, and new perspectives emerge. CHAOS is the theme for the 2026/27 season at the Theater an der Ruhr – as a reflection of our present and as a creative space for what is yet to come.

Here you’ll find the dates for our three performance clusters as well as all the information about the season opening, CHAOS - Theater of augmentes Realities, taking place September 17–20, 2026. We invite you to join us in launching a season that doesn’t seek to organize chaos, but rather to explore it.
