Grauenhaft idyllisch

Der deutsche Wald und was sich in ihm verbirgt

Multi-Media-Installation, followed by a talk with Georg Seeßlen and KGI

Where does this idea of a German forest actually come from? In his richly associative, essayistic multi-media installation, author and journalist Georg Seeßlen undertakes a critical journey through the history, myths and imaginings of a space that is as full of longing as it is of fear. It takes us through fairy tales and memories, psychological depths and pop culture, art and politics - with images, films, quotes and music, a dose of theory and a portion of polemics.

Afterwards, the KGI theatre collective invites you to a follow-up discussion with Georg Seeßlen. The VR work ‘The Silence of the Forests’, which was developed by KGI and can be seen for the first time in the exhibition UN/GEWISSE BEGEGNUNGEN, is essentially based on Seeßlen's texts.

The entire event is made possible by KGI - Office for Non-Communicable Matters.
