Roberto Ciulli, the founder of the Theater an der Ruhr, is one of the most important figures in German theatre life. With his inexhaustible passion for innovative forms of theatre, he has made the theatre in Mülheim an international venue for experimental and intercultural theatre.

Eva Mattes, who can be seen in a production at the Theater an der Ruhr for the second time this season, is an outstanding actress and artist. She became famous in the 1970s through her collaboration with director Rainer Werner Fassbinder and has since made a name for herself in numerous theatre, film and television productions. Her intensive involvement with the art of acting and her personal approach to theatre make her a unique voice on stage.
