Sing-along interventions by Kornelius Heidebrecht

Singing together brings people together because it synchronizes breathing, rhythm, and emotion — suddenly, many individual voices merge into a single sound. In that moment, people grow closer, listen to one another, and feel that they belong together. There is a utopia of connectedness in a choir. Kornelius Heidebrecht invites you to a “choir of chance” on a few special evenings, supported by members of the Petrikirche Mülheim choir.
Come along and just sing along! It's not about hitting the right note, but about the shared experience of strangers coming together through singing.
The outstanding musician and performer grew up in Belarus and Germany and studied sound and image technology at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf from 2002. Since 2008, he has been working as a composer and sound designer for theater and as a live performer (including Schauspiel Frankfurt, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Deutsches Theater Berlin). He is also co-founder of the performance group subbotnik, whose work has been closely associated with the Theater an der Ruhr for many years (including Showdown – Eine Übung des Erbstreits, Was weg ist, ist weg, 1001 Nacht oder die Macht des Erzählens).
Sing along with us on February 27, March 14, March 21, and March 27, before each performance begins.
