Mauro Martinuz
Live electronic set
Photo: Giulio Favotto
Mauro Martinuz is a composer and sound artist who has been associated with the Theater an der Ruhr for many years through the projects of the theatre collective Anagoor. Vom Licht, Germania, Bromio: various productions, each with its own soundscape, created to inhabit a specific space and a specific time.
In this live electronic set, Martinuz recycles the material created for those productions — in search of the directions these pieces never took, of the alternative paths that remained unexplored. Among the threads running through the set is also the music of Hildegard von Bingen, from Wie Küsse, wie Schnee: a voice from the 12th century that offers extraordinarily topical points for reflection — both philosophically and spiritually.
