Is it possible to change the way we see ourselves and find a new, optimistic perspective on the world around us as well? To overcome what holds us back and blocks us, what weakens our confidence and severs our connections? To face the tribulations of our time with hope and strength?
Choreographer Nir de Volff, together with dancers from his company TOTAL BRUTAL and people from the region, undertakes the utopian attempt to bridge the divides within and around us — with radical simplicity and artistic audacity. For at the heart of their work lies the most natural and democratic resource at our disposal: our breath. Not as an esoteric idea, but as a concrete practice that guides the body’s movement in dance just as it brings body and mind into contact and forms a group out of very different people through a shared rhythm. Based on de Volff’s BBM—Breathing Bodies Method, which he has taught and explored artistically internationally for years, Everybody Dance Now is a dance performance marked by hope and connection — and an evening of playful, sensually shared transformative power.
Everybody Dance Now transforms the theater into a place of self-empowerment and, through an experience of the body, opens up a space for reflection, sensation, and potential change.
Following the performance on 4 July, we warmly invite you to the premiere party.
