Katharina Lautsch

Katharina Lautsch, born on 1 April 1965, has been costume mistress and head of the costume department at the Theater an der Ruhr since 1996.

After completing her apprenticeship as a tailor from 1983 to 1986, she travelled as a journeywoman through the theatre landscape, from the Tiroler Volksschauspiele in Telfs to the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen to the Goethe Theater Bremen, with many detours along the way, before finally studying costume design at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 1992 to 1996.

Her wish to return to the Ruhr area was fulfilled with her engagement at the Theater an der Ruhr. Good things come to those who wait...
