1001 Theater Experiences
Weekend Workshop for 10- to 14-Year-Olds

During our theater weekend, we’ll take on various roles as theater makers: To start, we’ll write our own scenes—just like real playwrights—drawing inspiration from the stories of *1001 Nights*. Next, we’ll direct and brainstorm together how to portray genies and magic lamps on stage. After that, we’ll rehearse, and as actors and actresses, we’ll step into the spotlight and bring the characters from our own scenes to life. To wrap up the workshop on Sunday, participants will watch the production of “1,001 Nights” together on the main stage at the Theater an der Ruhr and see how the professional theater artists have brought the stories to life.
