Jobs

The Theater an der Ruhr was founded in 1980 as an alternative model—a new kind of ensemble theater. The concept of an ensemble that includes all members of the theater, combined with the idea of touring (the theater has since performed in more than 50 countries and has brought artists from those countries to Europe and Mülheim), makes the Theater an der Ruhr a unique venue for contemporary theater and art that defies passing trends, fostering open, multilingual discourse and international encounters. The Theater an der Ruhr is located in a former mineral baths facility in Raffelbergpark on the outskirts of Mülheim an der Ruhr. To this day, it operates with flat hierarchies. The idea of the collective and working independently are important foundations of its collaborative approach.

Interns

We are currently seeking dedicated interns who would like to gain insight into the work processes and activities of a theater. Under the guidance of the assistant directors, you’ll have the opportunity to actively contribute to the artistic creation process and become part of the team, accompanying the rehearsal process all the way through to the premiere. Your core responsibilities will include preparing for and following up on rehearsals, as well as assisting the director and dramaturg during rehearsals.

The internship is temporary and not tied to any specific production. The duration can be arranged on an individual basis. Theater experience is preferred.

Have we piqued your interest? Then please send your complete application (cover letter, resume) via email, combined into a single PDF document, to adem.koestereli [at] theateranderruhr.de.

The Theater an der Ruhr welcomes applications from all individuals regardless of gender, ethnic, cultural, or social background, age, religion, worldview, disability, or sexual identity.
