Female Empowerment, Turkish style! A theatre evening from Istanbul about setting out into the unknown and finding the courage to live one’s own life
Merve and Bilge, two young women whose paths cross at a boarding school, are torn between the longing to stay at home and the desire to leave their place of origin behind. Together, they embark on an uncertain journey into life, in which creation and destruction, the present and the past are inextricably intertwined. Amidst this tension, they begin to ask questions about identity and belonging, to reconstruct memories of their home and, in doing so, to search for the many fragments of their true selves.
Will Merve and Bilge find the courage to break free from the structures into which they were born and take the first step towards a self-determined life?
In Turkish with German surtitles.
