Constanze Fröhlich
dramaturge and member of the artistic programme team at Theater an der Ruhr since 2022. She is also responsible for the theatre's press relations. She comes from Berlin.
Constanze Fröhlich studied Romance languages and literature and political science in Berlin and Lyon. From 2004 to 2012, she was a research assistant for French philology at the Free University of Berlin, where she completed her doctorate in 2012 with a thesis on the contemporary French playwright Valère Novarina ("Poetik der Fülle. Sprechen und Erinnern im Werk Valère Novarinas", Winter-Verlag 2014). She subsequently worked as a lecturer at the University of Brasília, as a lecturer at the Humboldt University of Berlin, as scientific coordinator of the annual theme ‘Language’ at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and as press officer at the head office of the Helmholtz Association in Berlin. She has worked as a freelance dramaturge with director Philipp Preuss on productions including ‘Siegfried’ (text: Feridun Zaimoglu and Günther Senkel) for the Bayreuth Festival and ‘Unterwerfung / Gegen den Strich’ (text: Michel Houellebecq and Joris Karl Huysmans) for the Theater an der Ruhr. Since October 2022, she has been working at the house as a production dramaturge and, as part of the artistic programme team, is also involved in the new programme concept of the house and the creation and moderation of the festival programmes.
