Charlotte Sprenger
Charlotte Sprenger, born in Hamburg in 1990, studied Applied Cultural Studies at Leuphana University in Lüneburg.
From 2013 to 2016, she was assistant director at Schauspiel Köln, where she created her first works. There she was also part of the BRITNEY curatorial team, which managed the outdoor venue at Offenbachplatz. In the 2016/17 season, she staged the German premiere of Hannah Moscovitch's KLEINES, followed by a dramatisation of Jonas Hassen Khemiri's novel ALLES, WAS ICH NICHT ERINNERE, a world premiere that was invited to the Radikal Jung festival in Munich. Further works were created at the Theater der Keller in Cologne, including ‘DAS FEST’ based on the film by Thomas Vinterberg, nominated for the Cologne Theatre Prize, and the world premiere of Wolfram Lotz's ‘FUSSELN’, which was invited to the 2020 Autorentheatertage at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Since the 2018-19 season, she has also directed at the Theater Bonn, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Münchner Kammerspiele, among others. ‘Ein anderes Blau’ is her first work at the Theater an der Ruhr.
