Café Wake Cup
Café Wake Cup is a regular event series presented by the Theater an der Ruhr. On Sunday afternoons, the theater opens its doors: live Arabic music in the lobby, along with tea and coffee—free of charge and open to everyone.
The focus is on a carefully curated music program. Artists from the region and beyond bring the full spectrum of Arab musical traditions to the small stage in the foyer—from classical forms to contemporary interpretations. The foyer becomes a concert hall, and Sunday afternoon becomes an event.
The Wake Cup Café is part of what makes this venue special: a theater that not only seeks connection on stage but also invites you to sit down and stay a while.
