Anagoor
The Italian artist collective Anagoor has been one of the Theater an der Ruhr’s international partners since 2019. Since then, the partnership has grown into a genuine artistic collaboration.

Anagoor was founded in 2000 and sees itself as a collective experiment. Today, Simone Derai and Marco Menegoni lead the collective, supported by the permanent members Patrizia Vercesi, Mauro Martinuz, Giulio Favotto, Monica Tonietto, Gayané Movsisyan, and Piero Ramella, as well as rotating artists and experts. Since 2008, the Anagoor theater group has been based at La Conigliera, a rabbit farm converted into a studio in the countryside around Treviso.
As an ongoing laboratory, the Anagoor theater group combines educational work in schools, on-site interventions, and artistic productions into a theatrical art of the polis. The collective’s aesthetic blends performing arts, philosophy, literature, and hypermedia staging, while remaining firmly rooted in theater.
In 2018, the Anagoor theater group was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale Teatro—one of Europe’s most prestigious theater awards.
