A sound that straddles the line between new beginnings and resistance, complexity and raw power.

Chaos is the moment when certainties are shaken and something new can emerge. It is precisely within this tension that MAIKA operates. Her music blends apparent opposites into a powerful whole: complex yet catchy, disciplined yet unbridled, vulnerable yet uncompromising.

The singer, composer and performer Maika Küster studied jazz singing and composition in Essen and Copenhagen. In 2025, she was nominated for the German Jazz Prize in the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ category. Her concert tours have taken her across Europe, South-East Asia and the Middle East. As a co-founder of the feminist PENG collective, MAIKA has been campaigning for years to raise the profile of FLINTA people in jazz.

This event is part of the supporting program. The concert begins immediately after the performance of “Die Bakchen” and is included in the theater ticket for that play!
