Adem Köstereli

Adem Köstereli, born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1986, has been closely associated with the Theater an der Ruhr since his youth. His artistic career began in 2003 at the Junges Theater an der Ruhr. In 2012, he founded the RUHRORTER project. In 2018, he received the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science from the city of Mülheim for his commitment.

After studying business administration, Köstereli worked as purchasing manager for Europe at thyssenkrupp, among other positions. He has been working at the Theater an der Ruhr since 2021 and was appointed managing director in July 2025. In addition, he has been a member of the university council of the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences since December 2023.
